WHO WE ARE ANd WHAT WE DO.

 

MISSiON & SCope

The Black Parent’s Resourse Center ( TBPRC) is to addresses the need for public education resourses for Black students and their families. Specifically, a majority of our efforts are targeted towards those living in the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD).

 

WHAT are the functions of the black parent’s virtual resourse center?

The Black Parent’s Virtual Resourse Center collects and organizes materials that are useful to Black parents and community in West Contra Costa such as: health, education, social justice and employment resources.

Material formats are varied including training manuals, handbooks, reference books, directories, leaflets, posters, videos and sample equipment.

Our Team

  • Zelon Harrison, Co-founder

    Zelon is currently serving the West Contra Costa School District as a Black Parent leader and advocates to close the achievement gap for Black students. She has been involved ith the district DLCAP as the Co-chair and she has been a member of the African American Site Advisory Team (AASAT), a parent leadership group, since 2017.

  • Juanita Towns, Co-founder

    Juanita was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Seaside, Oakland and Richmond California where she has resided for 30+ years. Juanita has worked tirelessly in after-school programs as an Administrative Assistant, Coordinator , Group Facilitator and Mentor for over 20 years.She has also served as a Community & District Liaison as well as a Youth/Community Advocate.

  • Theodore Harrison

    Theodore has extensive background in IT and maintains the website’s experience as well as the organization’s technical needs.
