FAmilies in transition

The West Contra Costa Unified School District's Families in Transition provides support for homeless school-age children and youth who attend WCCUSD schools. Identifying homeless children and youth is a critical step in ensuring that they receive appropriate services and support. The Families in Transition provides homeless youth with the following services:

  • Transportation assistance

  • Counseling

  • School supplies

  • Assistance getting back into school

  • Referrals to community agencies

 

VOlunteer services

Becoming actively involved in education at the local level can help influence the direction and quality of learning for all students. Children are dependent on an involved and caring community to have positive impact in their lives. Your involvement can make a world of difference in the life of a child

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • WeTip is an anonymous, national crime tip program. Using the 800 hotline number, students, staff, and neighbors may anonymously report school crime. WeTip's mission is to protect children from crime and criminals.

  • Outbreaks of norovirus infection are more likely to occur during winter months within institutions such as residential facilities, hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, and child care settings. The virus is easily spread from person-to-person through direct contact, contact with contaminated surfaces, and ingestion of contaminated food. This information is provided by Contra Costa County Communicable Disease Control to assist with the recognition and control of norovirus infections in schools and child care facilities.

DUAL LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAM

 

WCCUSD's Dual Language Immersion programs prepare today's youngest learners to be tomorrow's leaders. Students in grades Kindergarten through 6th learn to think critically, compassionately, and creatively in both their native language and English.
